The elected officers of Society are: President - Marc Lamoureux, Vice-President - Diane Beauchemin, Treasurer and Membership - Heidi Chen, Secretary - Richard Denis, Past President - Mike Hinds.
According to the Society by-laws, the National Executive Committee may include representatives of the membership in addition to the elected officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Past President). These additional NEC members are: two representatives from each local section. (The Chair and Vice-Chair or two Directors or any combination of these, not exceeding two persons) and one Regional Director from each of the regions serving Members at Large of the Society. At present these regions are: Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime Provinces.
The NEC is composed of the following persons in addition to the elected officers. Mark Saffari (Vancouver/Victoria Chair), Ed Paski (Vancouver/Victoria Director), Roy Smith (Southern Ontario Chair), Hilton Greenberg (Southern Ontario Director), Bob Howard (Edmonton/Alberta Chair), Michel Pézolet (Québec Chair), Jean-Philippe Weber (Québec Director), Victor Benham (Ottawa Valley Director), Ewa Dabek, Nimal DeSilva and Doug Goltz (members-at-large).
Occasionally, other people are invited to participate in the NEC meetings, namely, the Editor of the Newsletter "Canadian Spectroscopic News" (Gus Shurvell), the International Liaison Committee Chair (Doug Goltz), the Managing Editor and Business Manager of the Canadian Journal of Analytical Sciences and Spectroscopy (CJASS) (Joy Sen Gupta), the Editor-in-Chief of CJASS (Diane Beauchemin, who is also the Vice-President), the National Programs Officer (Richard Denis, who is also the Secretary), the Chair of the Awards Committee (Jim McLaren), the Web Page Manager (Alison Holliday), and the student representative (Tina Mann).
